Last week we said goodbye to a hero, a legend, a great soccer Dad, a father and a husband, our resident Dainfern International Icon, Joost Van Der Westhuizen. On behalf of the entire Dainfern Lions FC we would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Amor and the entire family, may he R.I.P. and his memory stay with us forever. This week we celebrate the great news, Jordan Van Der Westhuizen, a member at the Dainfern Lions Football Club under 13 squad and son of the late Joost, was selected to represent the Gauteng District RCLFA u13 team travelling to play at the Donosti Cup in Spain in July. We at the Dainfern Lions FC are very proud of him. We also would like to congratulate Colby Sinclair (keeper u12) and Ilan Ben-Attar (u12) also selected for Spain, well done to all of you champions we are very proud of this achievement. Dainfern is busy moulding champions and we thank all the coaches for their great work and passion towards the kids.

The season has kicked off and we welcome all the newcomers in the estate to the club. The kids are excited and the competitiveness amongst them is clear already. We have quite a number of 5,6 and 7 year olds that have joined and that is fantastic. We call this age group the “Dainfern Cubs”. They are a pleasure to watch. The Dainfern Lionesses (soccer girls) are growing in numbers each week and we encourage parents to send their girls aged 8 to 16 to the club and let us get Girl Power going.

Those that want to know more about the club can follow us on fb or twitter or visit our website www.dainfernlions.co.za
