DAINFERN FOOTBALL

Joost Van Der Westhuizen passed away earlier this year. His son Jordan, shown in the pic, is a long-standing member of the Dainfern Lions Football Club and like his Dad, and Chairman of the club Nic Papas, is a diehard Liverpool FC Supporter. When his Daddy passed away Jordan wrote a letter for his Daddy to give to God and in the letter, he asks God to let Liverpool win their next game which “in fact they did”.

When his Daddy passed away Jordan wrote a letter for his Daddy to give to God and in the letter he asks God to let Liverpool win their next game which “in fact they did”.

This act by the young Lion went viral all over the world on social media. It was then that the current manager, Jurgen Klopp, wrote to Jordan personally and the entire team sent him a signed shirt in the spirit of what LFC as a club stand for which is “YOU’LL NEVER KNOW WALK ALONE” (YNWA).

Subsequently, Jordan has been selected to represent the Gauteng Districts u13B team at the Donosti Cup 2017 in Spain this July. He was chosen out of 150 players after completing numerous trials. He has also been selected to walk the South African teams out at the opening ceremony holding our National Flag. Good luck Jordan and from the entire Dainfern Lions FC club always know, YNWA.

To his Mommy, Amor, who has taken a lot of negative criticism from the detractors, we also say “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and to his Sister Kylie, prove your excellence to all those show jumpers out there. YNWA
