PET FIRST AID COURSE: 24 MAY 2018
You’ve just got home from work and you see that your pet is bleeding from a wound! Do you know what to do in the time between getting home and getting your pet to a vet? Yes! Well done! No? Don’t worry, we have arranged for the veterinary staff of CLAW to present a Pet First Aid Couse on Thursday 24 My 2018 at the Pavilion from 09h00.
Just so you know, this is what to do in the event of your pet bleeding from a wound – press a clean, thick gauze pad over the wound, and keep pressure over the wound with your hand until the blood starts clotting. This will often take several minutes for the clot to be strong enough to stop the bleeding. Instead of checking it every few seconds to see if it has clotted, hold pressure on it for a minimum of 3 minutes and then check it. Get your pet to a vet as soon as you can.
The cost is R280.00 per person PLUS an optional donation of item/s from their NEEDS LIST would be most welcome.
Please let Laura know via email firstname.lastname@example.org if you will be attending the first aid course as the space is limited.
